Buniyaad Sports Day is a delightful event that transforms the play area into a miniature sports arena filled with laughter, cheer and the pitter patter of tiny feet. Buniyaad children teachers and volunteers assembled bright and early on 31st January at Shri Gopinath Munde Maidan, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai for the Sports Day.

A variety of races were planned to cater to the unique abilities and interest of young children. From the ball balancing race, sock and ball relay race to the obstacle race, every game was crafted to promote motor skills, coordination and most importantly fun. Volunteers from our corporate supporters Xoriant, AEMTC and TajSats and also Individual volunteers enthusiastically supported the event, helping with taking care of the children, watching the tracks/finish line and even helping with photography. 

The children, guided by the cheering teachers took part in the games, showcasing their boundless energy and infectious joy. The emphasis was on participation and encouragement rather than competition, ensuring that every child felt like a winner.

This was followed by the teachers participating in the zombie walk and dress and play race amidst cheer from the children and volunteers. The special event was the parents fun race where they worked as a team to bead a necklace. 

The event concluded with the prize distribution, lots of photos, yummy food boxes courtesy of TajSats, and loads of memories. In retrospect, Buniyaad sports day is not just an event, it’s a celebration of pure joy of childhood through age appropriate games, focus on fun and thus laying the foundation for a positive attitude towards physical activity.
