Art and craft describe a wide variety of activities that expresses emotions, vision and feelings to create a beautiful form of artwork using the hands and brain. This cultivates confidence and develops fine motor skills in our tiny tots. Based on this thought, we at Buniyaad gave an opportunity to our little ones by conducting our second art and craft competition on 13th December 2023. The topic -Scenery of Pond with ducks was given which brought out the creative skills of the teacher and the tiny tots. The craft material included a big chart paper, varied coloured marble papers, crayons, cotton and glue. It was exhilarating to see the happiness and enthusiasm of the teachers as well as the little ones. With the teacher guiding, instructing and helping with cutting etc, the children depicted the scenery by pasting the cut-out shapes in the chart paper and colouring. They brought the scene to life by showing the pond, the ducks swimming, clouds above, birds sitting on a branch on a nearby tree, etc. We had corporate volunteers and special invitees who evaluated the process of creating the artwork in the nurseries, while Ms Sunayana Basarkar judged the finished artwork from all the nurseries. Based on the onsite evaluation and completed artwork, Nursery 5 took the away the first prize and Nursery 7 was the runner up.
